Seth Rogen Has Something to Say About Entourage’s Insults

If you’re an avid Entourage viewer like myself, you’d know that this past Sunday’s episode entailed continuous rips throughout its 30-min duration on actor Seth Rogen. Turtle’s (Jerry Ferrara) character finds it difficult to believe that someone so “unattractive” could get a girl like Katherine Heigl in real life; referring to the two year old movie, Knocked Up. This was referenced at least three times in the show, as Turtle could not put his disbelief to rest. Not only were these comments uncalled for at the frequency to which they were mentioned, but outdated as well. Since his 2007 comedy, Rogen has been dropping weight and toning his physique to play the lead role in his newest upcoming film, The Green Hornet, playing opposite of another blonde bombshell; Cameron Diaz.

So, when news got back to Rogen of his oral debut on Entourage, you could imagine that he was anything but thrilled to hear about the remarks; but don’t worry, he had something to say about it on E!’s Daily 10 yesterday:

“Yeah, those guys are [a-holes]. I actually ran into Matt… Kevin Dillon in a Starbucks. And he’s like ‘You know, I’ve got to kind of apologize because apparently the guy who created our show doesn’t like you so much.’ And I said ‘Well, I have reason to believe because I think [showrunner] Doug Ellin is a moron from all I can understand so it makes sense he doesn’t like me.’ And I’ve kind of said some disparaging things about the show. Although in our defense, [producer] Mark Wahlberg called us misogynistic in an interview, so I think they kind of started that … It’s on. Luckily I never have and never plan on watching Entourage.”

Touché.

Maybe writers of the show will think twice next time they try to make unnecessary slurs at their next comedy star victim.

Justin Timberlake Opens His Own Golf Course

Here they go again. It seems that in order to stay in Hollywood, you’ve got to start something of your own– whether it be a clothing line, accessories, wine (like Candace Cameron) or makeup. But of course, Justin Timberlake had to set the celeb bar even higher by opening up his own golf course. According to Perez, Timberlake purchased the former Big Creek Golf Course back in 2007 to save it from commercial development and invested in its reconstruction, and is now titled “Miramichi Lakes” golf course. Justin’s newest project will be opening in his home town of Memphis, TN, at the end of this month–July 25th to be exact. The site has gone through a $16 million renovation to make it “environmentally friendly”.

Jay-Z Replaces Beastie Boys at All Points West

For the first time in his musical career, rapper Jay-Z will perform at a U.S music festival this summer. He will be replacing the Beastie Boys at this year’s second annual All Points West festival scheduled to take place July 31 to August 2 at Liberty State Park. Adam Yauch, a member of the Beastie Boys, has been diagnosed with cancer and will undergo surgery, making him and his band members unable to play.

Jay-Z has participated in festivals prior to All Points West. Just last year the rapper performed U.K.’s Glastonbury, Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, Norway’s Hove Festival and London’s O2 Wireless Festival.

In light of the Beastie Boy cancellation, organizers of West Point are offering all tickets holders’ full ticket refunds for any and all days of performances. Although, who would not want to see Jay perform on stage to begin with?

With an enormous amount of talent and a handful of good luck and great connections, Eric Hutchinson was able to surface onto the music scene and become known for his soul influenced lyrics coated with his piano and guitar playing. Partly due to a recommendation from the Perez Hilton site, and Hutchinson’s own talent that keeps listeners entertained, Hutchinson’s album, Sounds Like This made its way to iTunes’ Top 10 and eventually peaked to the number 5 spot. For an artist who was not signed to a label, this was an enormous breakthrough.

Influenced by Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello and G.Love & Special Sauce, Eric Hutchinson lies between the genres of rock and folk pop and has been compared to the likes of Billy Joel and Paul Simon. The album though, seems to encompass much more as some songs have that jazzy aspect, and others, he effortlessly caters to fans using a soul deliverance.

Originally from Maryland, Eric Hutchinson is continuing to tour all over the nation, and preparing for his first international tour. And, considering the amount of good press surrounding him, as well as other artist’s who praise him, it’s no doubt he will continue to be well-received.

The only real way to describe The Flaming Lips is as an “Oklahoma psychedelic alternative rock band,” according to the band’s website. They do flirt with the line of being too strange (occasionally crossing it), but negate they’re weirdness with plain good music. Don’t believe me….In 2002, Q magazine named The Flaming Lips one of the “50 Bands to See Before You Die”. Check them out and enjoy.

Chris Brown Issues Apology Video

Well, well, well, when something’s wrong in Hollywood, it seems like the “cool thing to do” is to make some sort of video about it. Chris Brown jumped on the bandwagon, as he decided to put out an “Official apology” to his fans and the public regarding his self-deemed “unacceptable” behavior. The shock of his abusive actions at former girlfriend Rihanna hit fans hard, as some can never respect his music or talent in the same way again. Catching on to his declining ratings, he tries to salvage his career by submitting this noticeably scripted vid, and assuring the public how deeply sorry he is and how nothing like this will “ever happen again.” He also claims to take full responsibility for his actions, and tell us that “no one is more disappointed in me than I am.” While some fans feel this is genuine, others can never believe another word this girlfriend-beater says. Truthful or not, the video was definitely a necessary step for him to take in order to tippy- toe his way back into the entertainment industry.

Ne-Yo Breaks Down In Concert

Last weekend, Ne-Yo broke down in tears while performing in concert in Manchester, UK. He had been performing for an hour before he decided to end the performance early. Ne-Yo called it quits and promised that he would make it up to the crowd at another time. Through tears he said, “Trust me when I say ‘I’ll be back. I will be back.’”

He later explained, in his blog, the cause of his meltdown: “I have an issue with not knowing when to say enough is enough, so last night in Manchester, my body said it for me…it wasn’t until about 4 songs in that I came to the painful realization that my voice was done, literally nothing left, and that I would have to stop the show.”

The smooth R & B singer also defended his manhood when speaking about crying. He went on to explain his passion for music and performing: “If the one thing you cared about more than anything else in the world was threatened or even taken from you, if you knew that the people you cared for the most you had to disappoint…and this didn’t spark some kind of emotional outbreak within you… I’ll say you are truly a stronger man than I,” he explained. There is no word yet when Ne-Yo will be coming back for a tour or recording, but what is sure is that he is well deserved of a much needed break. [ rnbmusicblog]

I am a fourteen year old girl rolling around on her bed, hiding underneath a pillow that’s shoved over my eyes and restraining my breath. Dizzy with confusion, I attempt to look up at my Zach Morris poster…..Finally my fuzzy pink dream sequence has become a reality! Zach is talking to me and he thinks it Is a great idea if we run away together and don’t tell a soul!

Okay so none of that is really true… However, while listening to the thirty minute entirety of the new Discovery album LP, I may have slipped into an unconscious state and thought maybe, just maybe some how I had transcended time and found myself back in middle school, drawing hearts on a Mead folder with my purple milky pen.

All of this feeling evoked from just handclaps and finger snaps? YES! I do believe.

Rostam Batamanglij of Vampire weekend and Wes Miles of Ra Ra Riot have collaborated to bring the kids 2k9’s version of ‘Summer Loving’. LP begins with the track entitled ‘Orange shirt’, this song will draw you in with a ‘crush’ , that talks about all the cute (creepy) things we do when we just are SO into someone , like ‘walking past their house’ and not stopping. Though the opening may be a bit sugary, the guys will win you over as soon as they grant you permission to ‘Google’ yourself when you get home, and even offer to starch your laundry (in 4th track entitled
‘I want to be your boyfriend’). ‘I want to be your boyfriend’ features The Dirty Projectors Angel Deradoorian, and is a considerable ‘jam’ as Angel achieves a vocal phonation that rides over Rostam’s whispery confession “I wanna Dress you in the morning ,In last nights clothes, I wanna be your boyfriend , But I Don’t want anyone to know.’

Quite Possibly one of the ‘coolest’ songs (best for dancing) is ‘So insane’ aside from actually being INSANE it incorporates one giant falsetto, the electric slide, and synth riffs that will force you to bust a move in slo mo. Conclusion drawn : Anything that can make the electric slide even better than before is an obvious WIN .
The album keeps on, with ‘Swing Tree’, in which may have been orchestrated by Super Mario himself. There’s just something about that song that keeps me on the look out for golden coins and evil mushrooms ….but, despite the Yoshi undertone it is still the perfect match for your feet and the dance floor. The wrap up, keeps on with a guest feature from Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend in track title ‘ Carby’, and even a seemingly ‘timely’ fashioned cover of the Jackson 5 ‘I want you back’.

This album assuredly has produced some perfect summer anthems, its high spirit, its effervescence and its bubble gummy, disco techy fun beat drama, is only an asset to the indie pop world. It proves that the best part of growing up is that sometimes you just don’t have to.*

Luxurious shoe giant Jimmy Choo is the latest designer house to sign on to design a collection of affordable items for the mega retail chain H&M.
The store has featured cameos from high-end designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli and many others, but this is the first time that the store is collaborating with an accessories brand. Don’t worry, shoes will be the focus, but Jimmy Choo will also be designing men and women’s bags, accessories and… wait for it … CLOTHING! I am so excited, I feel like a giddy school girl who just met the Jonas Brothers.
