The Fatchelor: “More to Love” review, part I and II

There’s a reason why the majority of the population doesn’t watch television during the summer.

This year, Fox unveiled a gem in More to Love, which is essentially a version of The Bachelor for fat people. The featured eligible bachelor, Luke, weighs 330 pounds. Combined, the 20 contestants weigh in at a total of over two tons. The purpose of the reality program is to showcase a fat person’s efforts in finding his perfect BBW.

WindyCitizen meet-up this Thursday: beers and music by the Clout Meisters

This Thursday night, shut off the computer and join your fellow WindyCitizen members, contributors, readers, followers and friends out at Saluki Bar in Old Town for some good, old-fashioned mixing and mingling.  Plus, don’t miss a special acoustic performance from The Clout Meisters, a Chicago band led by city workers whose protest song, “Chicago Clout,” cracked the WC’s front page last week and received coverage from just about every local media outlet. Patrick McDonough, longtime local whistle-blower and proprietor of ChicagoClout.com, will be there, too. They’re bringing the guitars.  You bring your precious  bad self.  We’ll have fun together.

What was he thinking?!

Photobucket

I understand what Prez O was trying to convey with the “King of Beers” message, but he missed out on a grand opportunity to showcase some of our finest beers when he sits down for what’s being called the Beer Summit.

Before he settled on such ho-hum suds as Bud Light, he should’ve first taken a peek at this recent New York Times travel story on Chicago’s new wave of microbrews that includes local stars Goose Island and Piece.

An Ultimate Insider tells us The Drunken Goat—whose official location has been under a cloak of secrecy for four long months—is going into a former manufacturing building at 809-813 W. Randolph St. in the West Loop.

This is the first time a restaurant’s gone into the heavy timber venue that’s now undergoing a massive makeover to turn it into the glammed-out space everyone’s expecting from the team behind it.

According to 312 Dining Diva, Stephanie Izard’s much-talked about BBQ for the kickoff of the Wandering Goat Dinner Series didn’t disappoint.

“Is your accent real?”

That was what one of the muggles said to the tour guide as my sisters and I approached the Harry Potter Exhibition at the Museum of Science and Industry on Wednesday.

Her answer?

“Of course it’s real. Why wouldn’t it be?”

After that she said the saddest thing: “No photography allowed inside the … Read the rest

Megan Fox Did Not Turn Down Bond Role

Maybe Megan Fox likes her martinis stirred, after all… according to her reps she did not turn down the role to be in the latest James Bond film alongside Daniel Craig.

For the past few days, numerous websites have reported that Fox turned down the chance to be in the latest Bond flick. One of the first claims against the 23-year-old Transformers beauty came from UK’s Daily Star. The starlet was reported to have told a source that she would “rather be a more central part of the movie.”

Seth Rogen Has Something to Say About Entourage’s Insults

If you’re an avid Entourage viewer like myself, you’d know that this past Sunday’s episode entailed continuous rips throughout its 30-min duration on actor Seth Rogen. Turtle’s (Jerry Ferrara) character finds it difficult to believe that someone so “unattractive” could get a girl like Katherine Heigl in real life; referring to the two year old movie, Knocked Up. This was referenced at least three times in the show, as Turtle could not put his disbelief to rest. Not only were these comments uncalled for at the frequency to which they were mentioned, but outdated as well. Since his 2007 comedy, Rogen has been dropping weight and toning his physique to play the lead role in his newest upcoming film, The Green Hornet, playing opposite of another blonde bombshell; Cameron Diaz.

So, when news got back to Rogen of his oral debut on Entourage, you could imagine that he was anything but thrilled to hear about the remarks; but don’t worry, he had something to say about it on E!’s Daily 10 yesterday:

“Yeah, those guys are [a-holes]. I actually ran into Matt… Kevin Dillon in a Starbucks. And he’s like ‘You know, I’ve got to kind of apologize because apparently the guy who created our show doesn’t like you so much.’ And I said ‘Well, I have reason to believe because I think [showrunner] Doug Ellin is a moron from all I can understand so it makes sense he doesn’t like me.’ And I’ve kind of said some disparaging things about the show. Although in our defense, [producer] Mark Wahlberg called us misogynistic in an interview, so I think they kind of started that … It’s on. Luckily I never have and never plan on watching Entourage.”

Touché.

Maybe writers of the show will think twice next time they try to make unnecessary slurs at their next comedy star victim.

Vanessa Hudgens Takes it Off

The already scandalous Vanessa Hudgens is causing another stir that will probably have her drop the Mickey Mouse ears once and for all. The High School Musical star will be starring in the film Sucker Punch, in which she will play a hooker. According to Hudgens, “I’m playing a character named Blondie and it’s set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there’s not a whole lot of clothes.”

Justin Timberlake Opens His Own Golf Course

Here they go again. It seems that in order to stay in Hollywood, you’ve got to start something of your own– whether it be a clothing line, accessories, wine (like Candace Cameron) or makeup. But of course, Justin Timberlake had to set the celeb bar even higher by opening up his own golf course. According to Perez, Timberlake purchased the former Big Creek Golf Course back in 2007 to save it from commercial development and invested in its reconstruction, and is now titled “Miramichi Lakes” golf course. Justin’s newest project will be opening in his home town of Memphis, TN, at the end of this month–July 25th to be exact. The site has gone through a $16 million renovation to make it “environmentally friendly”.

Hot, Talented, and Eco-Friendly….what more could you ask for?
